Map of Sefton Coast

The area in which we live is rich in birdlife. To the North we are bounded by the Ribble Estuary, where Marshside one of our newer RSPB reserves, is situated.
In the South, on the Wirral, is another RSPB site at Gayton Sands, Dee Estuary.
To the East we have the Wigan and Pennington Flashes, which are old mine working areas full of a variety of wildlife.
The West of our patch is bounded by the Sefton Coast, the coast line is managed by Sefton Council, the National Trust, English Nature, various Golf Clubs and the Ministry of Defence. Close to Crosby is Seaforth Nature Reserve run by the Lancashire Wildlife Trust. The National Trust manage the Red Squirrel Reserve at Formby Point with large areas of sand dunes. Further north English Nature manage the land where the nationally famous Natterjack Toads reside.
The Sefton Coast RSPB members group meets on the second Tuesday of every month for it's Indoor Meetings at St. Lukes Church Hall Crosby, which is approximately 6 miles north of Liverpool (see map).
